What we do - the centre

To address the centre’s mission of furthering international heritage activities effectively, its activities are focused on the following three areas:

International Network
CIE maintains an extensive international network of experts in international heritage management and research. CIE offers technical assistance, heritage management and academic research. The international network is centred around an internet based platform that CIE has developed, which acts as a tool for communication and registration about international heritage activities. Every organisation is invited to subscribe to this platform.

Programme Development

CIE offers assistance & advice for the development of projects in the field of international heritage activities. Advisory services for funding and (local) partners are available on request.Recommendations are always shared with governmental institutions in The Netherlands.

Research
The CIE fosters academic research in the field of international heritage by actively encouraging the development of academic and theoretical frameworks in support of the practical work of heritage activities. The Centre stimulates and supports scholarly research programs at universities and other relevant institutes and participates in university courses in international heritage.
