The ANCODS collection bears witness to the mutual cultural heritage of the Netherlands and Australia. It is the declared aim of ANCODS to encourage communication about and scholarly research on the collection.

An ANCODS online database is currently being developed in the Netherlands and Australia and will be made available through on this Web site in the future. Its goal is to enable Dutch and Australian scholars and the wider international research community to access the collection easily and carry out research without having to visit the collection in Australia.

A concise version of the database will be available to the public at all times. Scholarly access to the extended academic version will be by application.

In the Netherlands this decision has led them to re-register their ANCODS artefacts prior to repatriation according to best international practice. The resulting database will be of high quality and featuring high resolution artefact images (from several angles), detailed descriptions of the artefacts and their site history and including measurements as well as bibliographic information.

Please visit again soon and check on the progress of the ANCODS database...
